That’s it – New Year Resolution achieved, although it took slightly longer than expected. My “entry level document management system” has been christened phpMyArchive and is now up on SourceForge and announced on FreshMeat. Can it really be nearly three years since I did my last free software coding project?

One note for next time – it’s one thing knocking together some code for your own use; it can take as long again to get it into a fit state for other people to use (and hopefully enhance). There’s tidying up the code and changing hard-coded parameters into constants; a web page or two to design; documentation to write; plus trying to remember how to use SourceForge – which has considerably more features but is considerably slower than last time I used it.

Anyway, the job is done – my small way of saying thanks to the people who gave me the free software tools to make it possible. I hope someone finds it useful, and it encourages them to spread the free software goodness too!
