OpenOffice.org in Wal*Mart thanks to Everex
July 18th, 2007
Everex today launched their new “back to school” PC in the US. The PC will sell in Wal*Mart, and has OpenOffice.org 2 pre-installed. The Press Release has full details.
See my earlier posting as to why this is important … and why I believe more announcements like this are inevitable. Congratulations then to Everex for having the courage to make a step some of their larger competitors are still fussing over.

Do you have Walmart in Ireland? Or is this a us-centric news. Interesting. We got wal-mart in mexico but I am not sure if we got them.

Wal*Mart bought out the Asda supermarket chain in the UK some time ago, which they brand as “Asda – part of the Wal*Mart family”. Asda sells a range of PCs in their stores, but none from Everex.
