I’ve just been copied in an email chain from a local community association. One of the members had circulated an email with an attachment in ‘docx’ format. There was a chorus of complaints that no-one could read it.

Needless to say I pointed out there is a simple solution – I was able to read the offending document easily as I had downloaded and installed OpenOffice.org 3.0 for free…
