OpenOffice.org launches have been plagued by problems recently. The launch of 3.0 last October resulted in a complete outage of the site which took a little time to resolve. The 3.0.1 bug-fix which we released today is a much more low-profile affair. The launch was planned for 12:00 noon CET, but for some mysterious reason the Bouncer – which we use to point people to their nearest download site – didn’t want to play.

It seems to be happy to play now, so we’ve gone ahead with the launch announcement. It will be interesting to watch the download statistics over the next few days.
