Twenty Million downloads
August 8th, 2009
Another OpenOffice.org milestone passed, with the download counter for version 3.1 passing the twenty million mark yesterday. For more details, see the bouncer downloads page.
As one recent email put it:
There is no question that Openoffice.org has superior technology to that of competing expensive alternatives. I fix computers for friends of mine and install the productivity suite on basically every computer I touch. A great product deserves to hyped up and I still can’t believe it doesn’t cost money. Just wanted to say thanks.
Give OpenOffice.org a try!

I don’t really know why so many companies are still using other alternatives. The advantages of OO are obvious. Poor ignorant people…but I’m very happy with my descision to work with OO for many years. THX a lot
